Major responsibilities:Install, configure, and maintain all relational database instances across development, staging, and production environmentsEnsure database server topology, configuration, and maintenance are designed and executed to meet SLA objectivesBaseline system performance and monitor for deviation, recommending and implementing improvements to slow running queriesRestore service to databases as outages happen, including after hours and on weekendsConfigure database monitoring utilities to avoid false alarmsFind the most effective solution for increasing performance, including purchasing hardware and making changes to the server configuration or index/queryProvide guidance on database design, tuning options, and other possible issue
